Sree Narayana College, Sivagiri, Varkala, is pleased to announce the opening of its DST-FIST Sponsored Central Instrumentation Facility, established to support academic research, student projects and scientific activities. The facility is equipped with a Multichannel Electrochemical Workstation, UV–Visible–NIR Spectrophotometer, and FTIR Spectrometer, providing access to advanced analytical instrumentation for students, research scholars, faculty members, and researchers from other institutions.
The facility welcomes academic and research communities to make use of these state-of-the-art instrumentation services. For facility-related information and sample submission, please visit our college website or apply through the national I-STEM portal.
State-of-the-art analytical equipment supporting high-precision scientific studies
UV–Visible–NIR Spectrophotometer is a PC-based, high-resolution double-beam spectrophotometer equipped with an integrating sphere attachment for diffuse reflectance measurements of powders and films. It operates over a wide wavelength range of 190–2700 nm with a resolution of 0.4 nm or better, and uses halogen and deuterium lamps as light sources. The instrument supports absorbance/transmittance measurements, quantitative analysis, spectrum measurement, time-course studies, fixed-wavelength measurements, validation, and diffuse reflectance analysis, making it suitable for advanced research and analytical applications in Physics, chemistry and materials science.
